Food Scrap Recycling
Location: Holly Hill Recycling Center – 4 Holly Hill Lane Greenwich, CT (PERMITT REQUIRED)
In partnership with Waste Free Greenwich, Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board and Greenwich Green & Clean, the Town initiated a voluntary, drop-off food scrap recycling program in June 2020. Food scraps are one of the largest components of our waste stream, and composting this material directs nutrients and carbon into the ground to increase soil health, reduces reliance on fertilizers and improves water and nutrient retention. Book Swap
Location: Holly Hill Recycling Center – 4 Holly Hill Lane Greenwich, CT (PERMITT REQUIRED)
Fridays and Saturdays, 8 am – 12 pm donation containers will be available. Collection bins for shredded paper and plastic bags are located next to the office. Click here for more information.
Textile Recycling

Cooking Oil Recycling
Location: Holly Hill Recycling Center – 4 Holly Hill Lane Greenwich, CT
(PERMITT REQUIRED)
Recycle your used cooking oil that is left over in pots and pans. Once the cooking oil has cooled, pour or spoon it into a durable container with a secure lid. The container should be stored out of reach of children and pets. Greenwich residents can bring their used cooking oil in the container for recycling to the Holly Hill Transfer Station- 4 Holly Hill Lane. The designated area can be found in the yellow shed located between the food scrap recycling drop off and trash building. Up to 5 Gallons per day allowed.
Recycling
Town of Greenwich promotes single stream recycling. All acceptable recyclables can be placed together in one bin. Recycling helps us to convert our old products into new useful products. In other words, it is good for the environment. Since we are saving resources and are sending less trash to the landfills, it helps in reducing air and water pollution. Waste has a huge negative impact on the natural environment. Harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses are released from rubbish in landfill sites. Help us help you save our planet.
